About ELM Farms
ELM Farms is a small farm our family has created in southeast Michigan. We raise Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats registered with the American Dairy Goat Association. Our two Weimaraners are registered with the American Kennel Club.
We first moved out to the country in 2009 after twenty years of city living. On a twelve acre plot of land we dove into animal husbandry welcoming Nigerian Dwarf Goats and a few chickens into our family. At the time our youngest son was involved with 4-H Goats and showed the two dairy goats. Our first doe received a Reserve Grand Champion at the Armada Fair leading to our decision to breed her. This expanded our small herd to five Nigerian Dwarf Goats. We learned a lot about goat care in those first few years. More recently we have been interested in the milk of our Nigerian Dwarf Goats. The milk from one was not enough for our family, so we have been looking to expand our herd. In the future we look forward to the milking potential and small fair shows of our does.

Also on our farm are two very energetic Weimaraners. Our two gorgeous blue dogs are both two years old now and keeping us on our toes. If we had time our male would make for an excellent hunting companion. On a regular basis he is charging through the field chasing a low flying bird until we call him back. Together they find a lot of mischief, including eating chicken eggs, but they are finally growing out of their puppy stages.
Four years ago we moved closer to Marysville, Michigan bringing our animals with us. At our new home we purchased a Limousin bull at a few months old. Our adventure into cattle is an interesting one with a six foot tall fenced pasture out back for our black beauty munching on his hay. In November of 2013 we introduced a Hereford heifer to the farm and holy cow is she more vocal than our goats! Our chicken coop expanded to include Ameraucanas, Buff Orpingtons, Isa Browns, Rhode Island Reds and Wyandottes. There is a lot going on, but we love working with our animals and take great care in assuring they are receiving the best care and feed that we can give them.
We welcome you to our website and invite you to look around. Our Does page shows off our five beautiful does. Our Weimaraners also have their own page in hopes to bring pups into your home in the future.
